Meet Meat is a small piece of Argentina in Brussels, with fabulous meat, wines chosen “I must say the rib eye steak was one of the best I have ever eaten .
Wine bottles that were on the shelves during the day suddenly glisten in the candle light. Dine indoors or, weather permitting, on the outdoor patio. This is not a fast filler-up.
The evening meal is to be savored. Service is relaxed and friendly. We arrived at 6pm, just as the restaurant was setting up for dinner. We were received by the friendly receptionist, and introduced to Dar, the chef and family member.
Dar has travelled extensively and picked up recipes and cooking techniques from all over the world. He has adapted the recipes for the Israeli palate and for kashrut. As we were a party of three with widely different food preferences, which gave us the opportunity to try different aspects of the menu. Our meal started with the house bread, fresh from the oven, a large fluffy loaf, served with olives, a salsa of crushed tomatoes and garlic, salad and a dish of mayonnaise.
Our major meat eater selected the Asado platter from the main course menu. This was a huge portion grams of slow-barbecued beef on the bone, accompanied by grilled potatoes and a large bowl of green salad with cherry tomatoes. Eating this amount of barbecue on the bone was a challenge.Restaurant Owner Cooks And Eats Deer In Front Of Outraged Vegans
The meat was soft and tasty, and went well with the chimichurri and bread with tabbouleh or mayonnaise. Our young but unadventurous student chose from the separate hamburger menu, which has multiple options and variations of that venerable fare.
He had the small hamburger grams is small here with lettuce, tomato and smoked goose breast, accompanied by a generous portion of thick home fries. He turned down the less familiar options like fried onions, sunny-side up egg, or candied pineapple. A non-meat eater among us was satisfied with the carpaccio of eggplant and tahina. This, with the bread, the tabbouleh salad and the green salad, made a full and satisfying meal. It is always curious to see the style that each restaurant chooses for the grilled eggplant dish.
The three of us shared desert, a large wedge of hot chocolate cake covered with chocolate cake.

Our young companion was the only one still hungry enough to eat most of it. For a flat price of shekels per person minimum of 2 people each diner gets a sequence of from Asado on the bone, chicken breast, Entrecote and Mullard served with bread, spreads, fresh vegetables and grilled potatoes.
For a small fee you can add another grams of any of the meats. It is also a lot of food. If burgers are your thing, try the burger platter, which includes salad and chips, is available in large and extra large. The menu continues with a good selection of starters and main courses. Who could pass up 18 wings in chili and peanut butter sauce which substitutes for dairy ingredients in other regionsveal carpaccio, or the vegetarian tabbouleh salad in herbs.
The small dish had two pieces of lightly cooked zucchini stuffed with a mixture of ground lamb and eggplant, with the lamb, the dominant flavor. One of the things that he liked about the dish besides the lamb was that the zucchini was firm, not raw and not squishy. There are so many attractive alternatives for the main course that it took us a while to decide. There is a good selection of steaks, burgers and different types of meat and chicken.
My companion chose the Entrecote steak.

I went for the salmon with grilled vegetables. After some consideration my companion chose the gram steak rather than the gr medium well done.
A larger steak would have been too much. Next time though he will order the steak medium-rare.
This is always a tricky thing to get right the first time you order steak in a restaurant. The steak was very tasty, not hard and not fatty. I would definitely order this again.
The steak was served with juicy grilled tomato and grilled onlion, with the black scoring of the grill on them. This was served with a small boat of chimichurri. The tomato was an excellent choice to accompany the steak. The chimichurri was nice, but was not really needed for the steak, which was well seasoned and aged. My choice of salmon was so tasty and so well prepared that I had to ask how they do it.
Turns out that the fish is first grilled and then pan seared, The grilled string beans and tomatoes were a perfect match for the fish. With our meals we got a separate bowl of rice gently flavored with herbs. What goes better with a full meal than a bottle of wine.
Meat and Eat has a great selection of wines displayed on the walls. Every month the restaurant focuses on a different wine that you are invited to enjoy by the glass. Speaking of alcohol the restaurant has a full bar.

If ever there was a restaurant that invites a cocktail, this is it. Whoa - it is not only about meat and bread.
Desserts at Meat and Eat are a specialty. The restaurant has its own dessert chef who creates desserts at the restaurant every morning. Desserts range from apple crumble, malabi, kadaif, chocolate mousse, chocolate Souffle. We had the Cookielida, which looked like an outsized chocolate Oreo cookie with cream in the center. The "cookie" was filled with fudge chocolate. This was sinful but a nice way to end a great meal. Meat and Eat has two distinct dining spaces: In addition there is a smaller space in the rear of the restaurant, cordoned off from the rest of the space, with a large table and some smaller tables.
As it is, this space is ideal for groups of 8 - 10 diners who want to have some privacy away from the large room. It can also be rearranged for private parties of up to 25 guests. The large dining area can accommodate up to 60 guests.
